Sara Hayman Roberts

North Wilkes High School Alumni
Sara Hayman Roberts

Q: Year graduated from North Wilkes:
A: 2000

Q: List any education/degrees beyond high school:
A: Graduated 2004 with B.S. in Business Administration - concentration Finance from UNCW

Q: List Professional/Career Experience and why you chose your career path:
A: I have worked at my firm for 14 years (most of my career). I have a business finance/operations background; currently
serving as a Division Business Manager at an employee owned infrastructure solutions firm. I reside in Raleigh, NC and
travel the Mid-Atlantic region. My primary role is to manage the division business plan and operating budget, ensure
integrity of financial data, lead and mentor a business team of 25+ and drive strong cash performance. My favorite part of my career path has been the opportunity to develop others - helping my team master their job expectations and grow professionally.

Q: If you could go back and give yourself advice as a high school student, what advice would you give and why. What
advice would you give to high school students today?
A: I would say to myself, what you are doing now - the challenges you accept, the time you invest in yourself, school and
community involvement, will pay dividends! I was always encouraged to try my best by my parents and teachers and knew it was the right thing to do however I never imagined the true worth the investment would produce both personally and professionally. Never stop investing in yourself, develop new skills and influence good in people.

Q: How has your NWHS education and experiences positively impacted your life?
A: I had many special memories from North! I was lucky to have great friends, fond memories of cheering all 4 years and
being involved in multiple clubs like Key, Beta, Peer Helpers and more. I would say one memory that always comes to mind was traveling to Europe with AP European History. It was an amazing opportunity! The group experienced and learned so much visiting Germany, Austria and Switzerland and we had many laughs along the way. My taste buds at that age unfortunately didn't appreciate the worldly cuisine that it does now!

Q: List any other achievements and honors received since graduation you would like to share:
A: After graduating college in 2004, I moved to Raleigh, married my husband Todd in 2008. My biggest honor was
becoming a mommy of triplets in 2013. And I was promoted to Associate Vice President of my firm in 2017.
