Q: Year graduated from North Wilkes:

A:  1988

Q: List any education/degrees beyond high school:

A: BS Middle Grades Education and MA Curriculum and Instruction

Q: List Professional/Career Experience and why you chose your career path:

A: I am starting my 21st year as an educator.  I started as a middle school teacher and then moved into the role of a middle school specialist.  I have also taught classes at Wilkes Community College.  I am currently an Advanced Programs Coordinator for Wilkes County Schools.  I chose this path because I always loved school and I had many great teachers who were role models and led me to this path.

Q: If you could go back and give yourself advice as a high school student, what advice would you give and why. What advice would you give to high school students today?

A: You do not know what your future holds but find something you love and go for it.  Enjoy your time you have with your friends because different choices will lead you to different pathways.

Q: How has your NWHS education and experiences positively impacted your life?

A:  Being a part of the sports teams at North and the coaches I had positively impacted my life.  This is where friendships and teamwork started, and it also gave me traits that I have carried into the workforce.
