In order to run for office for the 2020-2021 school year, you must complete the following:
- Write a letter of intent to the school which includes your name, your grade level, your campaign slogan, and your proposed service project- this letter must be emailed to Mrs. Stanford at [email protected] by Wednesday, 10/23/2020. Please be sure to explain why you want to run for office
- You will then receive an email response to your letter stating that your information has been collected
- Upon receiving that email, you need to begin creating your campaign video:
- This video cannot be longer than two minutes long
- Requirements for running:
- Good academic standing (passing each class with at least a C average)
- No major discipline issues
- No attendance issues
- Clear objective in running (must have a volunteer project ready to go)
- Videos, campaigning, and voting will occur the week of Spirit Week, 10/26/2020- 10/30/2020
- Voting will occur during Smart Lunch on Wednesday, 10/28 & Thursday, 10/29
- Winners will be announced Friday, 10/30
- If you are voted in to Student Council, you are agreeing to serve for the school year to the best of your ability, which includes meetings, volunteering, and other activities
