I'm David Johnson I have the honor to be the principal of North Wilkes High School and I want to welcome you to North Wilkes High School National technical Honor Society induction ceremony we recognize the accomplishment of a group of outstanding career and Technology education students and showing great aptitude in their chosen play area induction into the National Technical Honor Society is one of the highest the compliment that can be bestowed upon a career and Technology education having served over 1 million since its founding in 1984 the National Technical Honor Society was created to honor and recognition to one of the most critical segments of Education Career & Technology education from celebrating these students we are awarding nearly 300,000 in scholarships each year the National Technical Honor Society in empowering and supporting students in their quest to master a skill in mark on a career that they must we invite you all to join us in celebrating these students and supporting the time-honored purpose of the National Technical Honor Society the purposes of the National Technical honor Society are to reward excellence in Workforce education to develop self-esteem pride and encourage students to reach for higher levels of achievement to promote business and industries critical workplace values honesty responsibility and initiative team work productivity leadership and citizenship to help schools build and maintain effective Partnerships with local business and industry to Champs play Stronger more positive image for Workforce education in America colors of nths the colors of the National Technical Honor Society or silver white and purple silver represents value and worth y represent truth and honesty purple represent the cavemen and Otter emblem and Insignia of National Technical Honor Society the official emblem of the organization is made up of a shoe Cross by scroll bearing the letters in THS above the shield is the head of an American bald eagle with a wreath of seven stars circling the Eagles head The Shield represents the individual member the line running through the shield represents fundamental to building a life and career upon a good foundation the Bald Eagle's head represents the United States of America and the individual freedom of career choice of seven stars represents the seven attributes National Technical Honor Society member and they individual National Technical Honor Society chapters throughout the United States the official Insignia of the organization which is used on all charters memberships certificates documents and stationery is made up of the official nths emblem as it central figure and also an arch of hanwei turns grab the seven attributes of the membership skill scholarship honesty responsibility leadership and citizenship the year the society was established 1984 and the mod of the organization the arch itself represents the students passage from school or college into the workforce to stay at represent preparation necessary to make that transition the motto of the National Technical Honor Society is Success favors the prepared mind the slogan of the National Technical Honor Society is excellence in America's Workforce begins with excellence in Workforce education in preparation for induction in recognition ceremony we will light the candle that represent the tributes we here to as members of the National Technical Honor Society in the center of the table is a lighted candle representing knowledge knowledge is familiarity awareness or understanding gained through experience or study this candle represents the knowledge you have gained through experience and study in your technical program fuel is the use of knowledge to develop credibility an expert necessary to make a positive difference in a particular occupational field the second attribute is honesty honesty at the Quality truthful trustworthy and fair with everyone mod at work or play the third attribute is service service is giving assistant and being ready and able to provide a helpful and you spell act fourth attribute is responsibility responsibility involves the ability to act without guidance or Superior Authority and being answerable for your action the fifth member attribute to scholarship scholarship is the distinctive Mark of one who has mastered in the area of learning as reflected in the quality of these are her work especially with respect to scope their honest and tear the 6th attribute is citizenship citizenship is being entitled with full civil rights and exercising the duties rights and privileges of the status the seven-member attributed leadership leadership is the serving as a guiding force in directing the way but going first with courage and confidence remember I hope you recognize these seven attributes in yourself and value the qualities that make you eligible for membership in the National Technical Honor Society at this time we would like to recognize our second and third year members of nths these students have maintained standards of nths and have continued to excel in their Pathways please help us in congratulating the following students now to induct in recognize our new National Technical Honor Society members the following students embody the attributes of our organization and represent bullets in Career and Technical education inductees you are now members of the National Technical Honor Society of North Wilkes High School please confirm this by starting your pledge of membership I think member of the National Technical Honor Society I pledge to maintain the highest standard of personal conduct I will apply myself to continue a record of Scholastic achievement and I will strive for excellence in all aspects of my education I will invest my talents my skills and my in a career of my own choosing until always Endeavor to uphold my obligations as a citizen of my community and my country on behalf of Northwest High School we would like to congratulate you and your hard work and induction to the National Technical Honor Society this is an honor that you will carry with you
