Good evening Viking families,
Most Seniors will take the Workkeys test on Tuesday, November 19th. Please encourage your Senior to work hard on this test. Parents, students, and staff have worked very hard to build a positive academic reputation here at North Wilkes. This test does count toward our school report card. CTE staff have gone above and beyond to offer study sessions and a boot camp to prepare your students. We are one of few schools that take these additional steps to help ensure students are well prepared. This test can benefit your student as they look for jobs. Wilkes County has over 80 employers who will pay your student more upfront just for scoring well on this test. Thank you for taking the time to work with your Senior to help them and North Wilkes be successful.
Wilkes County Schools is collaborating to collect items for Ashe County School students. Many of our clubs are working to gather items. However, we could use some additional support from our parents and community with purchasing new gloves and toboggans that are high school appropriate. You can drop these items off in the front office next week.
Students will be out of school November 25-29th for the Thanksgiving Holiday and will return on December 2nd. Your next Sunday message will be on December 1st.
We hope that everyone has a safe holiday full of food, friends, and family.
